  2. Introduction

  5. Last december, I decided to buy a CD32 because it was much
  6. cheaper than another CD solution for my A1200.
  7. But the Sernet link is SLOW.
  8. Later I purchased an Aminet IV CD ROM, which didn't work
  9. on my CD 32. When I found a solution, I also found a way
  10. to speed up the connection between my two machines.
  11.  
  12. This text can help you if you don't know how to use CD which
  13. don't run on your console or if you want to speed up communications.
  14.  
  15. Please note that the speed won't be as high as the one obtained with
  16. a SCSI drive or an Overdrive. It will be much higher than Sernet's speed.

  18. What do you need ?
  19. ------------------

  21. - An Amiga and a CD 32
  22.  
  23. - A serial cable
  24.  
  25. - A communication program for the Amiga (Sernet for example)
  26.  
  27. - A CD ROM which contains communication Program
  28.   (like Sernet) and the device RAD: in one of its
  29.   directories. I use CDPD IV, which contains both
  30.   of them.

  32. - Twin Express (available on Aminet)
  33.  
  34. - Twin Opus 2 (available on Aminet) if you use Directory Opus
  35.

  37. Method
  38. ------

  40. Turn on your machines and run communication program on them.
  41. Mount RAD: on the CD32 and format it. Put a directory
  42. s which contains a startup-sequence in the CD32 RAD: and also
  43. the program Twin Express.
  44. Reboot the CD32. You should see Twin Express screen which is waiting
  45. for a command (difficult without keyboard...) or a communication.
  46. Don't forget to remove the CD before rebooting or RAD: won't boot.
  47. Reboot the Amiga and run Twin Express. Communication is established
  48. and is very fast.
  49. If you have Directory Opus and Twin Opus 2, communications will be
  50. very easy. If not you'll have to do all operations whith your keyboard.

  52. Now insert a CD into the CD32 drive and it will be accessible on the
  53. Amiga.
